Band Camp Survival List

These are mandatory items you will need for camp and for every rehearsal during the season. Please do not show up without them. They are for your safety and benefit. It will also allow camp to run smoother and more efficiently.
  1. RED INSULATED (1 GAL) WATER COOLER – this MUST be at every rehearsal that takes place on the field the entire marching season. It is imperative that you stay hydrated. We will take fast/numerous water breaks.
  2. Baseball Cap – this will be very important and will keep you from using a tremendous amount of energy squinting.
  3. Sunglasses – in combination with hat
  4. Tennis shoes – NO SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS, ETC......
  5. Plain White T-shirt – You will need white t-shirts with no writing on them for every rehearsal. This keeps us uniform and allows us to see forms clearly. Also it keeps you cooler than colored shirts. Ladies, sports bras are highly recommended.
  6. Athletic Shorts – NO JEANS OR JEAN SHORTS...we are musical athletes and we need proper attire to train as such.
  7. Two pairs of socks
  8. 3-ring binder with clear plastic sheet protectors
  9. Multiple Pencils (we will be making multiple changes and edits)
  10. Sunscreen – two weeks of camp with a sunburn will be very difficult
  11. Bug Spray –mosquitoes are deadly at dusk and early morning
  12. Mouthpiece, reeds, valve oil – all items that are necessary for your instrument and equipment to work properly, woodwinds should have at least 5 good reeds on hand.
  13. Chapstick
  14. Backpack - you will need a way to carry these items from place to place during rehearsal. Drawstring book bags and paper bags are not acceptable.
